Our Story

It was a your typical summer Saturday morning and my 3 boys and I ventured to our local surf shop to pick up a few things. While I checked out the clothing I asked my oldest son Jake to head to the counter and pick out some board wax.

He came back to me 5 minutes later saying he didn’t want to do it and he would wait for me to be ready, when I asked if there was a reason why he said, "I don’t want to ask for the wax because of it's name!”

It was at that moment I thought to myself no young child should have to be uncomfortable buying a product they need and why is there such a limited selection of wax that isn’t named something distinctly sexual in nature or implication?

This was the moment Surf Local Wax was created by our family.

We all use and help manufacture the wax from scratch, producing a superior product we love. We wanted a product that performed well, was chemical free, appealed to a large demographic, and was easy to use and purchase. I really feel that Surf Local wax is that product and we hope you do too.
